Rock Creek Bay and its two principal side canyons, Middle Rock Creek and Dry Rock Creek, extend north from about mile 36. Greg Crampton recalls that those who knew Glen Canyon the best frequently found the section between the San Juan River and Rock Creek their favorite. For 22 miles it offered ΓÇ£cliffs and walls, cascading slickrock slopes, and points and promontories rose on both sides. Most of the tributary streams reached the river through narrow, slot-like canyons.ΓÇ¥ Rock CreekΓÇÖs mouth was guarded by large, rounded domes now under water.
